What a NEET rank got in the All India Quota.

Real closing ranks from MCC's own Round 1 and Round 2 allotments — the 15% All India Quota, the deemed universities and the central institutes, with how far each seat moved between the two rounds. A record of what happened, not a forecast.

This is not all of medicine, and the gap matters. MCC runs the 15% All India Quota, the central institutes and the deemed universities. The 85% state quota — where most MBBS seats in India actually are — is not in here. Each state runs its own counselling separately.

And the difference points one way. All India Quota competes against the whole country; your state quota is restricted to people from your state, so its cutoffs are usually easier. If you find nothing here, that is not an answer about medicine. It is an answer about one route.

How to read this

Closed at is the last rank allotted a seat in that college, course, quota and category by the end of that round. Opened at is the first, in Round 1. Both rounds answer the same question, so the pair is a movement rather than two unrelated figures.

Where a college had at least ten seats and the spread was wide, we also show where 9 in 10 of its seats actually went. This matters more than it sounds. AIIMS Delhi MBBS Open opened at rank 1 and closed at 4,162 — but put 48 of its 50 seats inside rank 52. Quoting only the closing rank would tell you something true and deeply misleading.

PwD allotments are excluded from the closing rank and reported separately where they change the picture. One PwD seat drags AIIMS Delhi's apparent closing rank from 52 to 5,866, because PwD is a horizontal reservation allotted on its own list rather than a lower cutoff on the same one.

Rounds 1 and 2 — still a ceiling. Ranks fall further in Round 3 and the stray vacancy round, so a rank that misses here can still get a seat later. How much a seat moves is wildly uneven: 2,021 of 2,782 went deeper in Round 2, by a median of 4,178 ranks, but the top government seats did not move at all — nobody gives one up — while deemed and private seats moved by hundreds of thousands. Do not assume yours will loosen.

So treat a near miss as a real possibility, not a rejection. We will add the later rounds when MCC publishes them.

What this cannot tell you

Anything about the 85% state quota. Around thirty states and union territories each run their own counselling on their own rank lists, and none of that is here.

Anything about a PwD candidate's chances. Those seats are allotted from a separate horizontal reservation list and MCC publishes no comparable closing rank for them, so we would be inventing a number.

Anything about next year. This is one year of one round. Cutoffs move with how many people sit the exam, how the paper goes and how everyone else fills their choices.

What the data cannot tell you is which option is right — fees, bond conditions, distance from home and what the college is actually like to study at aren't in here. That is where we come in.
